Energy Conservation

Conservation Page

Someday in the future all of our energy will come from renewable sources.  While we rely on coal, natural gas and petroleum now, those sources will become increasingly expensive as the easiest and cheapest fields, wells and mines are tapped out.

It has been determined by the Department of Energy that to make the change will require us to use many more sources and systems of energy than we do now.  To shift 100% of our energy needs to these sources will require extensive development.  Yet if we only had to shift 70% to the new energy sources the cost and effort is significantly reduced.

It has been estimated that about 30% of the energy we consume is wasted through inefficient systems and consumer habits.  By eliminating this waste  we make the transition easier and less expensive.  Reducing this waste as soon as possible has numerous benefits for all energy users.

Because supply, demand and costs for any commodity are related, by cutting waste and reducing demand we help keep the cost for our energy commodities lower than if waste and growth in demand run wild.  Imagine saving 30% on the cost of the energy sources you currently are paying for.
